TRAMPING

There are some great tramps close to KCC!

The Karakariki waterfall walk is a liesurely 30 minute walk from the end of Karakariki Valley rd (2.5km from camp; campers may walk along the road to increase the length of time walking if preferred).

This small waterfall trek provides a great learning and playing opportunity for campers and is suitable to be used for bush studies, stream studies, swimming, fossil finding and overnight stays (it is located next to a four wheel drive campsite, which has port-a-loo facilities, running water, a fire pit and a clearing suitable for tenting).

By following the stream beyond the above waterfall trek for 40 minutes, you will find a much larger, layered waterfall. This is a great walk that requires walking through the stream to get to there.

10 minutes west of KCC towards Raglan is beginning of the Karamu walkway trek. It is a good 5 hour tramp through bush and farm land which provides many great views of the Waikato area on the way. This is a great walk for wearing out the kids and enjoying the outdoors.

It is a 40 minute drive to the Pirongia tramps or the Bridal Veil Falls tramp towards Raglan.
